Rashes & skin conditions
During your check-ups with Dr Böcking, he will do a comprehensive assessment of your little one's skin. Nappy rash, cradle cap, acne, skin allergies, infectious skin conditions and eczema are all common skin conditions for babies and young children.
What are the signs to look out for?
Any red, swollen, blistered, scabbed, scaly, oozing or itchy patches that you may notice should be seen by your paediatrician, especially if these symptoms are accompanied by a fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or irritability.
While eczema is a very common diagnosis, allergies often cause hives and rashes, and infectious skin conditions like chickenpox, ringworm, warts, thrush and athletes foot can also be the cause for these symptoms. The goal for Dr Böcking is to not only treat your little one's itching and inflammation but find the cause for the particular skin condition and determine how best it can be treated or managed.
